Why this Blog

All of my friends know I read a lot of books and often ask me what I am reading. When I was single I used to read 200-300 books a year. Now I have a house, kids, and do a lot of work with our Lions Club and our Lions Camp for Disabled Children, and don't read as much, but I will probably read 100-200 books a year.

Since so many of my friends often ask me what I have been reading, I though I would share it with the rest of the world. I won't link any books to sellers, but I will say you can get some great used books in good condition and low prices at Amazon.com. Another good source I have locally is the annual LSU Book Bazzar in March. I usually pick up 40-80 books at 50 cents to a dollar. Many universities and colleges run similar sales. Church fairs, second hand shops, and charity garage sales can have great treasures if you take the time to look. I got about ten Civil War books in mint condition at a charity sale last year. You just have to look, then enjoy!
